Local high voltage problems
In recent weeks we have been called to several properties experiencing high voltage problems.
The symptoms are alarm systems activating, appliances failing and RCD units tripping off.
Our power is delivered by the National Grid by local network operator Northern Power Grid (the old Yorkshire Electricity Board). It is their job to monitor the voltage and deliver power at a voltage between 217-253 volts.
We have recorded voltage in excess of 253 and in most cases the customer has had to replace several appliances.
In all these cases we have recommended a voltage optimisation unit to reduce the incoming voltage to 220 volts and prolong the life span of your appliances.
