Supporting Our Cow Molly Dairy to bring super fresh milk to Sheffield residents and Sheffield University
Norcroft Energy has just carried out the electrical works in Our Cow Molly’s milk processing dairy. The working dairy farm, located in Dungworth on the edge of the Peak District, north west of Sheffield, was established in 1947 by the Andrew family and produces fresh milk and related products under their ‘Our Cow Molly’ brand.
Dairy Farmer Ed Andrew said, “We contacted Norcroft Energy to carry out the electrical works in our new milk processing dairy following the successful installation of the solar panels to our family homes.”
Norcroft Energy have provided the lighting, ventilation, fire alarm system, emergency lighting and power requirements for the dairy processing equipment along with the electrics for the onsite classroom.
As well as milk, the dairy produces ice cream, cream and butter, using milk produced on the farm from their 80+ cows. Producing the freshest dairy produce for the residents of Sheffield.
Philip Mosley, Managing Director at Norcroft Energy said, “The new dairy is a self-contained building with a large electricity demand. The brand new appliances such as homogenisers, pasteurisers and water heaters are significantly larger than the units in the old dairy and a separate supply and back-up generator were required to keep the plant delivering their fresh milk every day.”
Ed added, “We are really pleased with the work carried out by Norcroft Energy. They have a great understanding of our needs at the farm and are always on hand to visit and answer any questions we have.”
The Farm is the winner of the 2015 Yorkshire Post Farm of the Year award. You can buy Our Cow Molly products direct from their Farm Shop at Cliffe House Farm or from a number of local retailers listed on their website.
