Can EV charging robots transform electric vehicles?
Artificial intelligence and the internet of things are looking likely to play a role in electric vehicle charging in the future. Volkswagen have outlined a new mobile charging robot concept that would allow electric vehicles to be charged in any space. These robots would be able to find your vehicle and charge it without any human input. It works through hooking up a mobile battery pack to each car.
It solves the issue of limited EV charging spaces in public car parks and it can even charge more than one car at once. They can drive autonomously and are fitted with cameras, laser scanners and ultrasonic sensors to avoid obstacles.
It’s so interesting to see how electric charging can become more accessible away from the home and how it might transform in the future. Would this make an electric car more appealing to you?
