Emley Show 2013
We had a great day at the Emley Show on Saturday in Huddersfield. Albeit a rather wet and windy morning! It was great meeting local residents and families – lots of new friendly faces. It was also great to catch up with some of our customers we met at the show last year who gave us some excellent feedback which is always nice to hear.
The bicycle kept us all warm as many had a go to see if they had enough pedal power to turn on the lights. Hard work but great exercise!
Concerns still exist regarding rising energy bills, with many taking a big hit after the winter we’ve just had. Our main aim at the show was to talk to people about renewable energy, an alternative option which will not only help you reduce your energy bills but can also make a profit from your home.
Voltage Optimisation
There was a lot of interest in Voltage Optimisation. We are noticing a lot of voltage problems in the local area at the moment and as a result, many appliances such as kettles and microwaves are packing in. Voltage Optimisation works to reduce and stabilise the incoming voltage to a property and so reduce the amount of electricity used. By dropping the voltage coming into your property, your appliances still work but use less power, saving you money whilst also reducing carbon emissions. The other plus is that many appliances will benefit from the lower voltage by extending their working life. Read more
Other hot topics of conversation at the show were Solar PV and Heat Pumps.
Solar PV
Solar PV technology converts energy from the sun into electricity using a Photovoltaic process. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced. We have completed a number of solar installations recently, including Woolley Park Golf Club and Whitefield Farm. By installing a number of solar panels, both locations now have the reliability of generating their own power whilst also making a guaranteed profit with their Feed-in-Tariff payments. Something worth considering if you’re experiencing high electricity bills, especially if you have a large south facing roof. Read more
Heat Pumps
A Heat Pump extracts heat from the air or ground and boosts it through an evaporation and condensation cycle to a temperature selected for use in the home’s heating and/or hot water. Heat Pump technology can meet all the heating needs of a well insulated property. They require very little maintenance and are often referred to as a ‘fit and forget’ system. If you want to experience lower energy bills, perhaps this is an option for you. Read more
There are many ways for both home owners and businesses to reduce those ever increasing energy bills and a variety of Government incentives to support you. By carrying out a site specific survey we always take the time to fully understand a person’s needs so we can provide the best advice and most appropriate solutions.
We hope that we have given people some food for thought and maybe when we hit the next wintery spell, you won’t be as worried about the bills!
If you missed us at the Emley Show, we’ll be at the Penistone Show on 14th September and would love to see you there.
